Like a bilingual monday
le 30 juin 2008 à 11:03 par mrboo[lang_en]I know it: If i really want Hellotipi to be an internationnal projet i have to force myself to read/write/speak in English (and maybe in Spanish someday…)
So, let’s start by a « like a something Monday » post.
Today i have some great news for you: the famous « e-consultat dot com » has written for you a special post about reach funds (i will post it today)
This afternoon i’m going to have a financial meeting with my partners: it’s time to make a first assessment (i’m not sure of the term) of what we’ve done for six month now.
Tomorrow night we will have our last (before summer break) « entreprenautes associés » diner, feel free to join us (using Facebook).
For the first time of our small company we have some « Tuesday new feature » in stock (3 to be exact) Tomorrow we are going to publish one and maybe an other one in the same week.
Thursday it’s vacation time for my little family, so i will transfer my « office » from Paris to the countryside near Angers.

J’ai une bonne nouvelle pour vous aujourd’hui: Le fameux « e-consultat dot com » nous offre un billet en exclusivité sur « Comment lever des fonds avec élégance » (je post ça aujourd’hui, ça vaut vraiment le détour 
)
Cet après-midi point financier avec mes associés: il est temps de faire un premier point sur les 6 mois écoulé (et d’envisager la suite).
Demain soir aura lieu notre dernier diner (avant le break des vacances) des « entreprenautes associés« , n’hésitez pas à vous joindre à nous (via Facebook).
Pour la première fois dans la courte histoire de notre boite nous avons des nouveautés du mardi d’avance, une sera lancée demain et peut-être une deuxième dans la semaine.
Jeudi c’est l’heure des vacances pour ma petite famille, je vais donc tranférer mon « bureau » de Paris vers la campagne près d’Angers.

I still think you should start your internationalization by the francophone world, and especially countries where family is seen in the same way than in France (and in the same way Hellotipi has been designed) : Québec (10 milllions people) and other french canadian (about 5 millions people), USA (2 millions of francophone), Belgium (8 millions), Swiss, etc.
The next move would be spanish (still before english since cultural adaptations are more easy to deal with), and then the rest of the latin world.
It’s just a point of view. I think that internationalization is everything but the english globalization of the world which consist to be the more cultural neutral possible.

Dear Crovax, I am waiting for the english version to build a bridge between my family in France (if we could also get Hellotipi in breton, that would be great) and my family in California and Quebec. The 2 last generations in the states can bearly say Bonjour so the english application would be a bliss for us if we want to stay in touch. Keep on going MrBoo, the world is global, Family are global.

I’ve nothing again translation. Please note that I didn’t talk about that fact. As my family is also in the need of multilanguage communication (Russia, China, USA, Israel, Germany).
But, it’s not because french families need to be accessible in other language that HT is international.
Internationalization need cultural adaptation which is really hard. Family is absolutely not a global concept. Try to speak about family with japanese, you’ll see that family is like religion for them for example. In the contrary there’s a huge number of culture where family means nationality, and other country where family is just nothing but parents and child (cousins are seen like stranger).
But that’s only my point of view.
I think that with only a translation of Hellotipi whithout any adaptation, you’re juste showing to American web companies that there is a market for them and that they can do better than you.
I think key of internationalization is cultural

Je n’avais pas vu ton commentaire mrboo.
Je ne considère pas la simple traduction comme une internationalisation. De plus les familles multiculturelles représentent elle-même une culture différente et une ouverture qui fait qu’elles sont parfaitement prête à accueillir un service qui ne correspond pas tout à fait à leurs usages : elles ont l’habitude.

Yeah man. That’s bloody awesome to read your blog in a language I could fully understand (coz – sorry pal – but your french « blabla » often turns me into a schmuck while I try to get your points and completely screw up being too stoopid to even catch a clue about what you’re talking about)

By the way, you gotta play it the smooth way with your globalization process. I’ve been informed that there are bunch of redneck Yanks on the other side of the Ocean that have heard about Hellotipi.
